The Rheinpreußen mine consisted of several older mines. The original mine was located in Moers, where still the Malakoff towers over shaft 1 is. Shaft 9 (left) ist still open, but will be filled and destructed during the course of 2002. Other mines, like the Pattberg mine, had been added to Rheinpreußen.

Most of the shafts have been destructed, like the Pattberg shafts (right).

Rheinpreußen 1 and 4 will remain as industrial museums.
